Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 18, 2026

Bay Area Events ("this app") is a personal project built and operated by Jonathan Chong. This policy explains what data the app accesses and how it's used.

What data is accessed

With your permission, the app reads event data from your Google Calendar using the calendar.readonly scope. It does not request write access, and does not create, modify, or delete anything on your calendar.

How the data is used

Calendar event data (titles, times, locations, descriptions) is combined with events gathered from public sources (Eventbrite, Meetup, venue websites, etc.) to build a personal events digest and archive, used only by the account owner.

Where the data is stored

Data is stored locally in a private database on infrastructure controlled by the app's operator. It is not sold, shared with third parties, or used for advertising.

Data retention and deletion

You can revoke this app's access at any time via your Google Account permissions page. To request deletion of any data already collected, contact the email below.
